Colin Bell was the driving force of the fine Manchester City side of the late 1960s and early 1970s, an all-action midfielder whose remarkable stamina earned him the nickname Nijinsky, after the racehorse. He could run all day, arriving in the box to score and covering every blade of grass in between.
An England international, he helped City to league, cup and European honours during the club’s most successful period before injury cut short his prime. He remains one of the most beloved players in the club’s history.
