Danny McGrain was an outstanding full-back for Celtic and Scotland, a mainstay of the Parkhead club across a long and loyal career. Strong, reliable and adept at both defending and joining the attack, he overcame serious setbacks to remain at the top of his game.
He captained Celtic through periods of success and was a fixture of the Scotland side, regarded as one of the finest defenders his country has produced.
