Denis Law was a brilliant and charismatic Scottish forward, the sharpest of finishers and one of Manchester United’s greatest idols. Quick, brave and lethal in the air despite his slight build, he possessed an electric instinct in front of goal and a flair for the spectacular.
He won the Ballon d’Or in 1964 and league titles at Old Trafford as part of a celebrated forward line, having earlier played in Italy with Torino. Known as The King to United supporters, he remains one of the most beloved figures in the club’s history.
