John Greig was the embodiment of Rangers across a turbulent and triumphant era, a defender and midfielder who captained the club through the 1960s and into the following decade. A one-club man, he lifted domestic honours in abundance and led the side to its finest European night, the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1972.
