Julian Dicks was an uncompromising left-back who became a cult hero at West Ham United, a player of ferocious tackling and a fearsome left foot. Nicknamed the Terminator for his combative streak, he was also a reliable source of goals, often from the penalty spot.
For all his disciplinary troubles, his commitment and quality made him a firm favourite of the Upton Park faithful.
