Neville Southall was one of the finest goalkeepers of his era and the greatest in Everton’s history. Agile, brave and remarkably consistent, the Welshman was the last line of a Toffees side that won the league and a European trophy in the mid-1980s.
Renowned for spectacular reflex saves and a fierce competitive streak, he made a club-record number of appearances and remains a legend at Goodison Park, as well as one of Wales’s most capped players.
