Pat Jennings was one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation and a beloved figure in English and Northern Irish football. Renowned for his enormous hands, calm authority and remarkable longevity, he was famed for saves made with his feet and even a legendary goal scored from his own area.
He gave outstanding service to both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, a rare feat given the clubs’ rivalry, and played on for Northern Ireland into his forties, appearing at the World Cup and earning a record number of caps.
