Peter Lorimer was a cornerstone of the great Leeds United side built by Don Revie, a forward famed for the sheer power of his shooting. Reputed to strike the ball as hard as anyone in the English game, he became the club’s record goalscorer and a symbol of that combative, hugely successful era at Elland Road.
A Scotland international, he won league titles and domestic and European honours with Leeds across two spells, remembered by supporters simply as ‘Hot Shot’ for the ferocity he brought to his finishing.
