Robinho was a dazzling, quick-footed Brazilian forward whose dribbling and stepovers made him one of the most exciting attacking talents of the mid-2000s. He rose through Santos, helping the club to domestic honours and drawing comparisons with the great forwards of the past, before a high-profile move to Real Madrid.

He went on to play for Manchester City and Milan, among others, and represented Brazil at major tournaments. At his sharpest he was a mesmerising one-on-one player, his close control and flair capable of illuminating any occasion.
